In the battle between Bill Gates' empire and the resurgent brand of Steve Jobs, Microsoft hopes to land a crushing blow to Macintosh with the release of the "simple," "easy" Windows 7. Microsoft unveiled their new operating system on Oct. 22, hoping to replace the widely criticized Vista, released in January of 2007.

1 in 6 has no clean water

SAB and charity:water strive to change lives

As members of campus enjoy the new fountain, it's easy to forget that 1 out of every 6 people do not have access to clean water. Sigma Alpha Beta, the coed Christian service fraternity, is seeking to change those statistics. "We're doing a campaign for charity:water, which is an organization that raises money to build wells in third world countries," Emma Helms, SAB Greek Council representative, said.

Identity theft is a pertinent threat that comes in many forms of varying implementation and intensity. One trait all forms of identity theft share, though, is that they can seriously alter or damage a person's reputation. College students are far from immune to the dangers of identity theft.

Epidemic Effects: Tri-Beta to host panel on H1N1

Tri-Beta will take over the Bridge of Learning tonight to host a twofold program. The event will begin at 7:30p.m. with a speaker from the American Red Cross who will discuss what H1N1 is. The speaker will also outline some helpful tips on how to prevent contracting H1N1 and other forms of the flu.

Con to host 8th Reading Clinic

Friday the 13th typically brings bad luck. This year,a it will bring 160 high school students to take over Capital's Conservatory of Music at the 8th Annual New Music Reading Clinic. Scheduled to last through Nov. 14, the clinic "is an exceptional opportunity to showcase the university bands to 160 high school students and 80 of their directors.
