On the issues

In continuing its role as a forum for democratic dialogue, Capital allowed it third presidential candidate in three weeks on campus. Constitution party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin, Ph. D., addressed a small group of curious students and fervent supporters on Monday. Baldwin talked for an hour before entertaining questions from the audience. The following is a list of Baldwin's quotes made at Capital.
On Illegal Immigration
"What we have going on in the border is not simply illegal immigration, what we have going on is an invasion. My goal is to secure our borders within 30 days if I become president. If I had to use regular military forces, I would use [them]..."
On the United Nations
"When I become President, the United Nations is going to have to find another place to meet. Their rent is up in New York City."
On the economy
"We have a total fiat money system that is backed by nothing, which allows people like wall street and politicians that are collaborating with them to spend unlimited amounts of money. It allows them to be uncontrolled and undisciplined in what they spend. It will come crashing down."
"I would like to appoint Congressman Ron Paul Secretary of Treasury. [When Paul would say], 'I have a plan to overturn the 16th amendment and end the direct income tax of the American people,' I would say go for it. When [Paul would say], 'Mr. President, I have a plan to disband the Internal Revenue Service,' I would say go for it."
On globalism
"You are either a globalist or you are an American. John McCain and Barack Obama are globalists, and Chuck Baldwin is an American."
"We have a group of people in Washington and Wall Street who do not look at America as an independent sovereign nation, nor do they care whether it preserves its independence and sovereignty. They believe that the way to the future is through this global entity. Whether you want to find it in 1984 or Huxley's Brave New World...everything that they warned us about in those books years ago is now coming to pass in our generation."

Its about time someone had the guts to run for president and say these things. I don't believe anything McCain or Obama say except when they talk about raising taxes. (Continued…)

For Baldwin to win, more people need to contact their local media, write letters to the editor, and BLOG about it!
I'm for Baldwin!

Baldwin on The Civil War:
I believe the South was right in the War Between the States, and I am not a racist. (And I invite anyone to ask any of the numerous members of minority races that attend my church to verify that!) Neither do I believe that the leaders of the old Confederacy were racists. (Continued…)

Wow. This guy is amazing, but I don't think his idealism will lead to anything productive. I think it would probably lead to something more like the totalitarian state he described in his own comments. (Continued…)

I thought this debate was about them, as opposed to featuring them. Whoops.
