Every April, students who have the desire and the talent to conduct independent research project join the Capital community in celebrating their scholarship.

The 14th annual Symposium on Undergraduate Scholarship is a meeting of the minds that includes students from most majors and from each of Capital's five colleges.

The symposium is open to all undergraduate students.

Students can either submit a poster presentation to display in the Capital Center, give an oral presentation in front of students and staff or create a model.

Submissions must be either original research or an informative review on pieces of literature.

There is no limit to what can be examined. Many students who have studied abroad discuss their travels.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for students of all disciplines to present their best work - a way to see what's happening on campus," Catherine Boulant, a faculty member of the symposium planning committee, said.

This year, all students must submit the abstracts of their projects through Blackboard by Friday, March 12.

The symposium will take place Wednesday, April 21, the same day as the Honors Convocation.
